On Thursday April 18, 2019 forty-five guests including former students and colleagues gathered at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, KY for the inaugural Marilyn Logsdon Meredith Nursing Scholarship Awards Dinner. Mrs. Meredith was joined by her family and friends as she was recognized and officially presented her namesake scholarship from the MLMNS Board of Directors.
The 2019 Marilyn Logsdon Meredith Nursing Scholarship was awarded to Eminence High School senior Isabella Stringer. Ms. Stringer is a senior student in the health sciences program at the Shelby County Area Technology Center. She has been accepted into the honors program at Eastern Kentucky University, where she plans to pursue her nursing degree. This year's scholarship amount was $1800.
The 2019 Marilyn Logsdon Meredith Nursing Scholarship "Most Impactful Teacher" award was presented to Mrs. Jennifer Willard. Mrs. Willard teaches the senior courses in the Health Sciences program at the Shelby County ATC. She was nominated by her student, Ms. Stringer.
A special thank you to everyone who attended and supported the scholarship this year with donations. I had the opportunity to speak to the two junior classes in the Shelby County ATC Health Sciences program and left confident that we will have many applications next year. I look forward to working to grow the scholarship to allow us to give as much financial assistance to as many deserving students as possible.
