Welcome to the new Marilyn Logsdon Meredith Nursing Scholarship website. Please take a moment to navigate the website and learn about the scholarship program. My overarching goals in creating this award program are three-fold: to acknowledge Mrs. Meredith's significant contribution to mine and many others' successful careers in a meaningful, lasting way, to create an opportunity for post-secondary education for pre-nursing students in Shelby County with a significant financial barrier to attending college, and to recognize teachers that have a consequential impact on these students' academic performance and determination to chase their collegiate dreams.

My family and I plan to contribute the funds to provide at least one $1000 scholarship per year. Through a grassroots campaign with former students, former colleagues, friends and family, I hope to grow the scholarship fund in order to be able to increase the amount of the award and/or be able to offer awards to additional students. Ultimately, and perhaps sooner than later, my plan will include solicitation of corporate sponsorship from organizations and businesses throughout Shelby County that have a vested interest in developing the community pool of nurses.
